CHANCLETA (2024) Drama, Fantasy
This is a tall tale about how Captain Jesus gets his Jesus sandals. The “chancleta” to me has always endowed some grandiose power of Latin mothers to control their children by wacking a flip flop on the side of their heads. They use it as a form of discipline. A chancleta was the equivalent to Chekhov’s gun. You see it, you know it is going to be used.

Bongo-Z and his Watercolor Dreams (2023) Documentary
Growing up, every Sunday my dad, Bongo-Z would take my sister and me to “church.” Our church aisles were sandy and the holy water was the convergence of salt and pee. For a long time, this is what I believed church was. The ocean was my religion. Whenever my dad was having a difficult time drinking and trying not to drink he would go to the beach.  I wanted to show the impact spirituality has on getting sober in a story as transparent as watercolor.
